Winter Birds in Northern California

Once the rains come Phoebe's come and start looking for places to build their mud nests. They'll sit like this and fly out to grab a passing insect. They are very quick.

This hummingbird is perched above the hummingbird sage I posted in November. It is perfectly matched to the green leaves on the young oak.

Mocking birds are so amazing with the different songs and sounds they make. They love the mulberries in spring.
