Bayley House & Barn

Opened as a travelers spot in 1862 the Bayley House in Pilot Hill, California is a beautiful 3 story building. Now gone are the pillars, verandas, and once held a wine cellar, ballroom and an observatory. Hoping to serve the travelers of the Central Pacific Railroad Bayley assumed the railroad would run past his property, it did not. Eventually the travelers stop became a private residence and currently is in restoration owned by Georgetown Divide Recreation District. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Both images available in my shop.
